New ambassadors and changes at head office
Bern, 20.05.2026 — Two ambassadorial titles have been awarded and the following personnel changes have been decided on for 2026 and 2027 in the external network and at FDFA head office. This comes as part of the FDFA's periodic transfer rotation and is based on appointments made by the Federal Council.
New Swiss ambassadors
Edgar Dörig has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of the Philippines, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Republic of Palau, based in Manila.
Gilles Roduit has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Principality of Liechtenstein, based in Bern.
Gabriele Schreier has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Cyprus, based in Nicosia.
Pietro Piffaretti has been appointed Federal Council Delegate for the 2030 Agenda in Bern.
Awarding of ambassadorial titles at the FDFA
Céline Champion Dessibourg was awarded the title of ambassador for her new role as director of the International Geneva Welcome Centre (CAGI) in Geneva.
Salome Steib was awarded the title of ambassador for her current function as head of the OSCE programme office in Dushanbe.
